Community service on Bengali New Year 1422

iEARN-BD has celebrated nobo borsho (Bengali New Year) 1422 on pohela boishakh (first day of year) through a community service program. 20 Finalists of the Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange and Study (YES) scholarship program gathered together on April 14, 2015 at the Nobin Krirachokro ground to welcome another group of 20 children from Jamiatun Nur Orphanage and Madrasah, Mirpur, Dhaka. Two groups of students spent times with traditional activities and tried to understand each others lives and education opportunities. It was a unique experience for both groups.

Co-coordinators of iEARN-BD and YES program in Bangladesh Mr Rajib Lochan Das and Mr Wasi Mahmud Moni were present at the occasion. The event ended up with big smiles on all faces. YES-13 scholar Faria said that it was her best nobo borsho program ever in life. 10-year old orphanage student Ibrahim gave advice to YES scholars not to spend much time with mobile phone if they want success in life!
